The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums we have tested, has a self emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris into an external dirt container on the base of its charging once it is fully filled. The i3+ EVO can be prevented from overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However, it must still be manually empty at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's built-in dustbin holds 2.4L of waste, which is enough to last several cleaning sessions before needing to replace it.
The i3+ EVO, just like the i7, uses cutting-edge floor-tracking sensors that create maps. It also allows you to navigate in neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores one map, while the i7 can store multiple. The i7 can also use its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO is not able to do this.
The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing debris from the surface when compared to other robovacs we've reviewed, but it is not the best at cleaning edges and corners. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It was a bit rough on furniture as it forced chairs away. It also made some collisions with the sides of the test bed.
